As far as I can recall, the guinea pig is a very helpful creature. When I failed to find my bone buried beneath the soil, the guinea pig would provide me with hints on where to find the bones.
The Owl
Eerie as it can be, it can only be seen at night. It hoots from the tree branch and never goes near to any animals in the garden. The Owl certainly likes to eat worms. It has the best eyesight at night and tends to pick on the poor Wobbly Worm. One day, it brought a dead rat into its nest. It smellt terrible and every creature living in the same tree complained about the foul smell. However, the Owl refused to admit that it hid a dead rat in its nest. Not until the pigeon found a rat’s tail hanging out from the Owl’s nest. The pigeon could not bear the foul smell and was very angry at the Owl. It packed its bags and flew out and never looked back.
The Cat
This was the lady’s favourite. The cat was given the best treatment in the house. The lady of the house would read the book of Swords with her cat sitting on her lap. The cat even wears a necklace bearing the Sword Symbol. The cat was a loyal devoter and spends most of the time with the lady of the house. The lady fed the cat with a lot of food. Over time, the cat put on weight and became one of the fattest creatures in the garden. Every animal in the garden did not feel threatened by the cat even though it was big and wears a necklace given by the lady of the house. That was because the cat sleeps in its basket most of the time.
The Porcupine
This is a highly dangerous animal in the garden. Every animal in the garden fears the porcupine. The porcupine appears to be a ‘big’ animal but if you cut out its spikes, you will notice that it is just a thin and small animal. What made the porcupine a dangerous animal is its spikes. Many other animals in the garden were poked by the porcupine. Because I was just a puppy, I was rather inquisitive. Often, I would go near and sniff the porcupine’s ass. Just to know when it’s on the heat to mate. However, until now, I really don’t know it’s gender; for it hasn’t started to breed after mating for years.
The Wobbly Worm
As its name suggest, Wobbly Worm doesn’t own a weapon to protect itself but it strives hard to survive in the garden. Hiding in the soil, protecting itself from the Owl and Duck, the Wobbly Worm only comes out when it’s bored. Nature made it that way --- worms are meant to live in the soil. It dies when it is out. Unknown to the animals in the garden, the serum helped to strengthen the Worm. The worm’s droppings would be so acidic that it burns on those who stepped on its droppings.
The Duck
Ducks have short legs and its butt hangs low to the floor. As it walks, its butt shakes as if to fan dry its butt. This duck is exceptional. It has long legs and yet it walks with its butt hanging low on the floor. Its mouth never stops eating. And it eats almost everything it can see. It’s a silly animal as it even tries to gobble up a pebble.
The Peacock
As proud as it can be, the Peacock struts confidently when it walks. Often, it would open up its feathers to display its colourful feathers. It loves to be the object of envy to all the animals in the garden. That’s because its feathers are used by people in the court of justice to sign important documents. Well, this is the only thing that the peacock could show. The Peacock is a friend to only a few selected animals. The criterion to be the Peacock’s friend is simple: You have to be someone the Peacock could make use of.. in particular to ensure that you would keep its compound clean of animal droppings. In short, if you could keep the Peacock’s compound clean, its beautiful feathers stays clean and the Peacock will feel happy living in the garden without having to do any of the dirty cleaning.
The Rabbit
What big tummy this animal has! Its tummy feels comfortable and warm. The rabbit is a friendly and tame animal but if you look closely, the Rabbit keeps a knife in its two long ears. This explains why rabbits have pointed ears. Rabbits chew on carrots. One look and you will think that it’s chewing on the same carrot. But if you observe the Rabbit longer, it has actually emptied a few gunny sacks of carrots. It does things so quickly and quietly that none of the animals realize that it is a threat in the garden.
Other animals
The lady of the house also brought three baby animals into the garden. They were placed in a big brown basket. At this moment, I can’t identify what animals they are. One is black while the other is white; and another is just a few weeks old but looked grown up. At this point, me, the dog doesn’t dare to put my nose to sniff out the babies. I am waiting for the babies to crawl out of the basket. Because by then, their stripes would show.
